John Darnielle has meticulously crafted another Mountain Goats album with all the melancholy and layered irony fans have come to expect. Recently they appeared on The Colbert Report to promote the new release; where Darnielle’s & Colbert unique brands of satirical wit were a natural blend.

The new album “Life of the World to Come”, is comprised entirely of songs with bible verses as titles, loosely inspired by Darnielle’s own conflicts with faith.
